ExtractionsAt Bachtell Dentistry, we are proud to offer tooth extractions to our patients.

There are many reasons why you may need an extraction. Some teeth are too diseased or damaged to try to save. There are also times when we have to remove teeth because your mouth is too crowded for all of your teeth or an impacted tooth is damaging another tooth.

After completing an examination with radiographs, we will discuss all of your options.

At the time of treatment, the first step is to numb the area. We also provide a variety of sedation options. You may notice a small amount of bleeding as your mouth forms a blood clot to help it heal.

As with any surgery, your mouth may be sore for a few days. Dr. Bachtell will prescribe appropriate pain medication to help control any discomfort. You should not perform strenuous work or exercise for the next few days and we do not recommend smoking, drinking with a straw, or eating certain foods. You will have to take extra care when brushing your teeth. You should contact us if you have any problems after surgery, especially if you notice any swelling. We will discuss your post-op care and provide a list on instructions prior to your treatment.
